New Series Announcement from E. J. Stevens!

So if you follow the blog you’ve probably seen my post about my favorite indie author, E.J. Stevens. A few days ago she posted a rather mysterious tweet about some exciting news she couldn’t share yet. Me being, well, me, I immediately demanded that she (read: hinted that she should) tell me what was up. I may have mentioned something about the fact that I’m the world’s best secret keep (I really am!). I guess my natural charm and our long-lived friendship won her over because I got an email shortly thereafter with the news.

AND OMG I FREAKED OUT. Here’s an excerpt from my response back to her for proof:

I suspected the secret had something to do with another book series but I didn’t really put any thought into it beyond that but YOU HAVE JUST MADE MY BLOODY DAY WITH THIS NEWS!!!

*speaks calmly* If you will remember, in my review of Blood and Mistletoe I did make mention that “I want more Ivy, I want more Jenna, I SO want more Marvin (love love love that kid), and I want to see what the hell’s going to happen between Ivy and Ceffyl!” I did not expound on just how much more Jenna I wanted in my review but I realize now that I should have (and I may very well go back and edit the review to reflect this) because AFTER READING BLOOD AND MISTLETOE I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT TO MYSELF THAT A SPIN-OFF NOVEL FEATURING JENNA WOULD BE ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS EVER.

Oh E.J. – our dreams are coming truuuuuuuuue!!!!

See the freaking outage there? Ok, well anyway – E.J. swore me to secrecy about the news (including an amazing blurb that made me want to assimilate myself into her brain so I could get a sneak peek at the actual story itself) and I promised not to breathe a word until it was time to announce it. I had no idea that time would come so soon.

So are you ready for the synopsis? ARE YOU??? Of course you are. Feast your eyes:

Hunting in Bruges (Hunters’ Guild #1) by E.J. Stevens

The only thing worse than being a Hunter in the fae-ridden city of Harborsmouth, is hunting vamps in Bruges.

Jenna, a driven young member of the Hunters’ Guild, discovers new challenges to fighting the undead when she steps foot onto the medieval turf of an ancient vampire lord. As if a 700-year old vamp wasn’t bad enough, Jenna has a horde of ghosts to contend with. It’s not long before the Hunter becomes the hunted.

Now on the run, Jenna must put her combat training to the test as she struggles to unearth the truth about an ancient enemy. Determined to prove herself and advance within the ranks of the Hunters’ Guild, Jenna delves into a bloody local history that only raises more questions–but some secrets are best left buried.

Hunting in Bruges is the first novel in the Hunters’ Guild series set in the world of Ivy Granger.
