The Trouble with Tribbles, I Mean, Facebook Likes

So, as you probably know, I was super SUPER excited when we unlocked the Summer of Giveaways – the requirements of which meant getting at least 100 followers on Twitter and 50 likes on Facebook. However, in the process of setting everything up, I discovered some really disheartening news.

Facebook doesn’t allow page owners to see ALL of the people who have liked their page.

Just another thing to add to the list of why Facebook SUCKS. But this means that there’s no real way to ensure that someone who wins a giveaway based on that action (Like Twilight Sleep on Facebook) has actually done it. I know I can’t be the first person to figure this out…so it kind of surprises me that none of my fellow book bloggers have never said anything about it. I guess it’s ok with them, but it doesn’t sit well with me because I don’t want to reward people who haven’t actually followed the requirements. Because of this, I’m rethinking how to structure my giveaways so….the Summer of Giveaways is temporarily on hold.

But I PROMISE that the wait will be worth it. I have some amazingly awesome things to share with everyone! So keep an eye out because good stuff is on the way. :D

In the meantime, here are some giveaways you can enter that aren’t part of the Twilight Sleep Summer of Giveaways, but that Twilight Sleep is currently hosting:

> Bound by Prophecy (Descendants #1) by Melissa Wright
> Soul Taken (The Life After #1) by Katlyn Duncan
> Armored Hearts by Pauline Creeden and Melissa Turner Lee

Since I’m obviously the only awesome person on twitter right now, I shall accept your challenge!

This post is all about applesauce and the greatness that is Motts! You also threw in a few things about how you will be making me snicker-doodle cookies and how evil Facebook is for not allowing you to check who has liked your page for giveaway reason.

I actually didn’t know Facebook did that! Thanks for telling me :)

by the way, could your subject line have anything to do with that Star Trek episode where they have those furry things in it?

Well, there are those giveaway forms other than Rafflecopter that allow you to see if someone has actually completed an action. Like Giveaway Tools? I do not like it though because the confirmation takes a while. Oh, and your giveaway question is so nerdy. I Googled it, and I get it. Pretty cute.

Hyuk hyuk, you know me, Queen of le Nerds. Giveaway Tools, eh? I may look into that. I’ve already come up with a solution though, methinks. Just gonna make Facebook likes a free entry from now on, give more weight to Bloglovin’ and email subscriptions. *nod nod*

Hi. My name is Shannon and I like books. And photography. And video games. I use this space to talk about books and particpate in badassery. You can read a bit more about my awesomeness and how Twilight Sleep came to be (the name has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, contrary to popular belief) on the about page. :]
