Hey everyone! Today Abby Whitaker, a fellow book junkie, is stopping by to do a mini-review of an adult paranormal series she has come to love! I’m trying to convince Abby that she should start doing regular reviews here at Twilight Sleep (help me!) but in the meantime, here is her review of the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones!
Abby’s thoughts:
Hello fellow readers! I thought I would let you all know about a fantastic series I discovered recently. It’s all about good vs. evil, discovering what you’re really made of, oh, and sarcasm, lots and lots of sarcasm. It’s the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. It starts with First Grave on the Right and the fifth book will be released in July. If you are a fan of sarcasm and dry humor you will love these books.
Charley is a private investigator in a family of cops, but she has a special talent that gives her (and her family) an edge in the business- she’s the grim reaper. Who better to find the bad guy than the person who can talk to the dead victim? She was born this way and all her life, she’s been shadowed by a presence with which she could feel a connection. Now that she is grown, that presence makes itself known, and Charley has to decide just which side it’s on. Considering she can’t keep herself out of trouble, and the fact that the fate of the world may rest on her decision, she’s having a hard time making up her mind.
This series is filled with fun, quirky characters, awesome one-liners, steamy sexual tension, and some great who-done-it suspense. I highly recommend.
With love,
Abby

I’ve gotta admit, I’m pretty intrigued. This series has very high ratings on Goodreads, so if you’re looking for something new to read (especially if you’re needing a break from YA – some people do), then I suggest you check this one out! So far there are four books and one novella in the series; the fifth book, Fifth Grave Past the Light, is scheduled to be released on July 9, 2013! I’ve added the books below so you can click on them to add them to your Goodreads shelf. :]

A huge thank you to Abby for stopping by to share these with us!

June 25, 2013 at 12:47 pmI LOVED First Grave on the Right!! I’m a huge fan of anyone who speaks sarcasm fluently, so Charley was like a high I couldn’t come down from. Nice review Abby, hopefully you’ll cave and come back!
