Secret For A Song by S. K. Falls

When I read that first sentence in this book, I wasn’t so sure if I was going to like it. My first thought about Saylor was that this chick was freaking crazy. The more I read the more I found myself wanting to know what happened next. I was completely caught off guard! This book grabbed a hold of my mind and wouldn’t let go. I found myself laughing with the characters as well as crying. It gave me a whole new perspective at how I viewed others. I think this book deserves a 4 star rating. The fact that it completely took me by surprise earns points there. The story was written well. It didn’t take me long to read it because I couldn’t put it down! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

2014: Back to Life (Back to Reality)

Hey all, it’s Shannon. I’ve been gone a while…we all know this. At one point I’d decided I wasn’t coming back. But the books won’t let me stay away. So, it’s a new year and hopefully a new start for Twilight Sleep. It and I have been through A LOT and we’re both a little worse for wear, but I figure what better therapy than working on making TS better while I work on making me better too? To make sure I actually stick to it this time, I’ve set a few goals for myself: I want to post at least once per week, even if it’s not a review. I want to rebuild my relationship with as many of my fellow book bloggers as I can. I will focus less on keeping up with what other book bloggers are doing and more on what I CAN do. I will … Continue reading

Night School by C. J. Daugherty

I was very dissapointed with this book. Maybe because it sounded like it might be an awesome story, and I was expecting better than what it was. I mean it was okay, but I wouldn’t want to read it again. There were too many unnecessary details. Of course this is just my opinion. I also did not care too much for the main character. It took me FOREVER to read this book because I couldn’t get into it. The story finally got pretty decent towards the end. My rating for this book is going to be a 2. She gets a star just for writing the novel. That takes guts and dedication to do. The other star is for the potential this book could have had. I think this could have been written better though. Much better.

The End of Hosting at Twilight Sleep

Hi everyone. It’s been a while, I know. I really thought that things were going to go a different direction with my book blog once things settled down in my personal life. The problem is, things never settled down! I’ve been absolutely swamped with my new business and I not only have no time for blogging anymore, I have no time for hosting/blog transfers either. So, with sadness, I announce that I will no longer be accepting new applications for blog hosting or transfers. This will not affect current hostees – I will still be here to make sure you have the best experience possible. I will be giving all of you an updated email address at which you can reach me should you need to. Thank you to everyone who made this short but awesome venture possible.

Unbreathable Blog Tour: Author Interview + Giveaway!

Today I am SUPER excited to be interviewing Hafsah Laziaf, incredibly talented designer, amazing friend, and author of one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life (and I don’t just say that because she’s my friend – you guys know I don’t play when it comes to books no matter how much I like the author…), UNBREATHABLE. Available October 29, 2013 One hundred and fifty years ago, Earth was destroyed, and the remaining humans fled to the dusty red planet of Jutaire, where the only oxygen is manufactured, food is scarce, and death strikes often. When Lissa’s father discovers Earth still exists, she accidentally inhales the toxic air of Jutaire, and in one breath, discovers she isn’t quite human. Her father hangs for his discovery, and Lissa knows the Chancellors will come for her, for she saw the Earth that night too. With nothing to lose, she … Continue reading
